Grifflyn Electric service calls in Victoria, BC start at $179. Most residential service calls land between $179 and $1,600 depending on scope, time on site and materials. Every job is quoted upfront from our published pricing catalogue, so you know the price before work begins, and quotes are free. Larger work such as panel upgrades and service changes is quoted flat rate after a site visit.
-
Grifflyn Electric Inc offers up to a 5-year warranty on parts and a lifetime warranty on workmanship. If an installation fails because of how we installed it, we return and correct it at no charge. Manufacturer warranties on fixtures and equipment are separate and vary by product.
-
Yes. Grifflyn Electric Inc holds Technical Safety BC electrical contractor licence LEL0209496 and carries $5 million in commercial general liability insurance. Work is performed by certified electricians, with apprentices working under direct supervision. A certificate of insurance is available on request.

Standard service calls are typically booked within one to two weeks. Panel upgrades, renovations and new construction take longer to schedule because the start date depends on permit timing, crew availability and, on a service change, BC Hydro. Emergencies are handled separately and answered 24 hours a day.
-
Yes. Grifflyn Electric answers the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for electrical emergencies such as a burning smell, a sparking panel, scorched outlets or a complete loss of power. Call (778) 350-2677 at any hour. Standard rate hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM; work performed outside those hours is billed at an after-hours rate, quoted before we dispatch.
-
Yes. Grifflyn Electric pulls every permit under our Technical Safety BC electrical contractor licence LEL0209496 and coordinates all inspections directly. You do not need to contact Technical Safety BC or your municipality yourself. Permit costs are itemized in your quote so nothing arrives as a surprise.
-
We do. On a service upgrade Grifflyn Electric submits the application to BC Hydro, coordinates the disconnect and reconnect, and schedules the Technical Safety BC inspection in between. You do not need to contact BC Hydro yourself. The main timing variable is how quickly BC Hydro schedules the disconnect, which is outside our control.
-
A panel upgrade replaces the electrical panel and breakers while keeping the same incoming service size, and is common for older or recalled panels such as Federal Pacific Stab-Lok. A service upgrade increases the amperage coming into the building, typically from 100A to 200A or 400A, and involves the meter base, mast, service conductors and coordination with BC Hydro. A service upgrade is the larger and longer of the two.
-
Yes. Single outlets, light fixtures, dead circuits, dimmer swaps, EV charger installations and general troubleshooting are all normal work for us. Small jobs start at $179 and are quoted before we begin, so there is no minimum project size and no obligation to bundle work you do not need.
